Saturday on the Mount’ '.Seymour Parkway. __ The car that struck down | the two — who are believed to have been. hitch-hiking - — sped away from the scene. Police were invéstigating a second hit and run accident — at the Grantham Street Bridge, about one kilometre away from where the two youths died — when they learned of the deaths. The driver at the Grantham Street accident was taken into custody. Campbell and Watt, who were left in the roadway after . being struck by the first car, ~ were hit by a second car. The driver of that car stopped and stayed at the scene until police, who had been inform- 5 ed of the accident by a passer-by, arrived. Police are not identifying the man they arrested, who was released from custody on a promise to appear in court in March. He will be charged at that time, pending the results of RCMP in- vestigation. The coroner's office is also investigating the accident to - determine the cause of death. Preliminary reports say Campbell died at the scene of the accident while Watt died shortly after being taken to Lions Gate Hospital.
