GRIM FACE expresses emotion of fireman hauling
dinghy onto Ambleside beach Friday evening after a
fruitless search for a man who died in an apparent
drowning suicide. The search was launched after a
report from a woman that her boyfriend, a 40-year-old
West Van man, had walked into the sea fully clothed at
about 30 p-m. and dived under the waves when he
reached waist depth. His body was washed ashore
about an hour later.
