Larry's beat Hollyburn Lumber 7-3 last Friday while Cottrell Forwarding lost 5-4 to the Canadians on Saturday, giving Larry's a four point final edge over Cottrell. The Larry's - Hollyburn game was a close one, with the teams tied 1-1 going into the third period, when Dave Johnston and Tom Lee scored three goals apiece to lead Larry's to the victory. Also on Friday the North Shore News beat Metro 5-3, but it was all for naught, as the News still finished fifth in the six team league. The Canadians vaulted from fifth to third place in the very last game of the season on Saturday night, leaping ahead of the News and Hollyburn in the standings with the 5-4 victory over Cottrell. All six teams make the playoffs, which begin Friday at the North Van Rec Centre beginning at9 p.m. First place Larry's and last place Metro meet then in the first of a best out of three series. At 10:30 p.m. it will be the Canadians and Hollyburm Lumber facing off while on Saturday, February 13, Cottrell hosts the North Shore News at 8:45 p.m. at the Rec Centre.
