For parents, the Montessori elementary school provides control over student-teacher ratios, freedom. from school bureaucracies and a say in cur- riculum, said Lanziner. “We don’t have to worry about funding being dropped for music or whatever,” he said, Lanziner has two daughters at a Montessori preschool. Now, parents plan a to Grade 2 school the first year, with grades being added each year up to Grade 7. With eight Montessori preschools oa the North Shore, Lanziner expects a good base of support for the school. - The school will use the British Columbia Cuniculum Guide as the minimum stan- dard and enrich the program with French, physical educa- tion, music and art.
