By Andrew McCredie Sports Reporter The weekend wins put the women cagers in a three-way tie for third place with just two games remaining in the regular season. The top four teams make the playoffs. Cap beat Malaspina 43-38. then thrashed Cariboo 69-48 to keep them in the playoff hunt. “it really is a tight race,” said Lady Blues’ head coach Lori Chizik. “And it looks like the season is going to go right down to the wire.” The race to the wire for the Lady Blues begins in Vancouver this Friday as they take on fifth-place Langara. They then wrap their sea- son the following night with a home game against Okanagan. Tip-off is 8 p.m. Capilano’s men’s team, meanwhile, also finds itself in a dogfight for one of four playoff spols. The Blues downed Cariboo 110-93 last Friday, then lost a 80-74 heartbreaker. to Malaspina, the second best college team in the country. In their only other meeting this sea- son, the Blues beat the Mariners.
