The performance will be held in the Orpheum at 1] a.m. You’d think the early hour would put people off, but Gerussi says it’s never too carly to enjoy Mendelssohn’s famous Wedding March. “When you think of the Or- pheum at If a.m. you'd say, ‘My God.’ But they (Music in the Morning) really pack them in. And it’s not just older people — there’s a great cross-section of ages.” Gerussi hasn’t had a lot on his “plate since the demise of the Beachcombers. ‘‘But.then I’m at the stage of my life when I do the things I want to do,”’ he says. Gerussi admits that after play- ing Nick Adonida on the Beachombers for 19° years it's hard not to miss the show. But he says he doesn’t allow himself to dwell on it. “f said at the time it was a mistake to take it off the air and | still believe that. If you look at what's on the air now — God, it’s alt American shows, “I constantly hear from people how much they miss the show, but I don’t think about it a lot.’’ Tickets for next Wednesday's performance are available through 280-4444, Letter writing workshop will be held on Monday AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL (AX), “the international human rights organization, will be ‘holding a workshop on writing letters in support of political pris- oners on Monday, Feb. 22, at Highlands United Church, 3255 Edgemont Blvd. in North Van- couver, Supporters of AI regularly write’ letters to heads of state and other government officials requesting the release of individuals who are imprisoned, tortured or killed for their political opinions.
