NSWER: Blisters or bubbles may sometimes
appear after the wallpaper has dried. Usually these arc
caused because the paper was not pressed down suffi-
ciently with the smoothing brush during application.
But it is not always your fault —- sometimes the sub-
surface is to blame. In any case the cuse is not really

drastic.

Where possible, corrective cuts should be made
along the pattern to help conceal the repair. This is not
always feasible depending on the type of pattern on the
paper. With a sharp utility knife or a singic-edged
razor blade make an X, T or right-angle-cut in the bub-
ble with one end of the cut across the top so that glue
can be flowed into it. Carefully pull back the cut por-
tion, making sure ihat you do not fold it sharply mak-
ing a permanent crease. Hold the cut edges away from
the surface and apply glue to the wall and wallpaper.

Press the cut portion against the wall with your finger
pushing it tightly into place. Use a seam roller to go
over it and push al] excess glue out from behind. (Do
not use the seam roller on flocked or raised-pattern
wallpaper as this may cause damage. Rather press it
into place with a damp cloth.) With a damp sponge
remove excess glue from around the repair. Be careful

not to soak the wallpaper.
