For one reason or another, Brigham Young decided that raising silk worms would be an excellent cot- tage industry. Dutifully, the Mormon ladies began raising the little critters. 1 was tcid that many of them abhorred the task — who needs an attic full of worms? However, the Orient was never in real danger from the competi- tion and the worms were phased out. Still, some of the cocoons and a dress made from the silk are displayed. Admission is free here as well, but donations are accepted. § pur- chased a cookbook in the gift shop and wasn’t allowed to do- nate — the price of the book went into the jar. We were sorry to leave St. George. In a quiet way it tells you more about the Utah pioneers than some cf the showier bits of Salt Lake City.
