Section of Cates Park goes to the dogs

NORTH VANCOUVER District Council has decided to

give a section of Cates Park to the dogs.

Council voted Monday night to
accept several recommenda:ions of
its Animal Welfare Committee, in-
cluding making the upper ‘rail area
of Cates Park into a Gesignated
off-leash area for dogs.

free in Cates Park, a citizens
committee has been formed to
lobby the Vancouver Port Corp. to
give dogs a similar off-leash area
in the Maplewood Mudflats area.
The port is still trying decide
what it will do with the area, which
