The ‘lurepiece’ is the first of a series of products Tourism Van- couver will be producing for 11 Greater Vancouver municipalities, who earlier this year, signed a con- tract for the first destination mar- keting program in the province. The municipalities comprise the District of North Vancouver, City of North Vancouver, West Van- couver, White Rock, Surrey, Delta, Richmond, New Westminster, Burnaby, Port Co- quitlam and Port Moody. This program enables’ focal municipalities to show off their at- tractions on a national and inter- national basis as well as supporting the regional tourism industry. With the Greater Vancouver area still benefitting from the ex- posure of Expo, this program en- courages visitors and convention delegates to visit the many sights and attractions throughout the region. “Each one milffion dollars in tourism revenue generates at least 38 jobs in the Greater Vancouver Regional District,’? said John Munro, executive director of Tourism Vancouver.
