THE WEST Vancouver Otters
placed nine swimmers in the finals
at the B.C. Open Age Group
Championships held at the Van-
couver Aquatic Centre July 10 to
12, and took home 10 medals.

In the girls’ 13 und 14 age
group, three Otters placed in the
finals.

Kathryn Pellatt won the gold
medal in the 200-metre backstroke.
She also won silver medals in the
100-metre backstroke and the
200-metre individual mediey.

Switnming in the 10 and under group, Ot-
ter finalists were: Steven Marshall, fourth in
50m breaststroke; Jake Russell, seventh in

Michelle Wilson, Cori Creed, Claire Mat-

In all, B.C. motorcyclists raised
close to $14,000.

Organized by recreational
motorcyclists, the ride raises
money for research into Retinitis
Pigmentosa (RP), a group of
genetic eye diseases that is a major
cause of blindness in Canada.

Motorcyclists have raised over
$1 million towards RP research
since the ride began in 1979.

A spokesman for the Toronto-
based Retinitis Pigmentosa Foun-
dation of Canada said the final
total from the June 13 rides should
run to $500,000.

Last year, $435,000 was raised.
