Businessman John Robert Hughes had been staying at the hotel with business associate Remy Roulet. Police say that at about 6:20 pm Wednesday Hughes called Reulet at the hotel, saying he was on Kings Gate Bridge and that two people were following him. He asked Reulet to go and collect him from the south end of the bridge. Reulet drove over Lions Gate Bridge about 10 minutes later and police say Hughes was not seen again after making the phone call.
