Deaths

BAACOCK ~ John N. passed away in St
Vincent's Hospital on August 18, 1893
after a short struggle against cancer.
Born September 10, 1902 at Cobble
Hill, 8.C., he was a longtime cesident of
Kerisdale,. having occupied the same
home for 52 years. A prominent. in-
surance broker in Vancouver, the firm
he started continues operations in his
name. He had the good fortune to be
able to lead a very active life until 3
months before his death. Predeceased
by his wife Olive in 1987. He is survived
by his 2 sons, John and Brent (Debbie);
grandchildren Christopher and Daniel;
plus several nieces and nephews
throughout Canada and the USA.
Memorial Service to be conducted at
3:30pm on Wednesday, August 25, 1993
in the MOUNT PLEASANT FUNERAL
HOME, 306 East 1ith Avenue (at
Kingsway), Vancouver, B.C. Cremation.

TAYLOR ~ Ruth of West Vancouver pass-
ed eway August 19, 1993, aged 96
years. Born in Abergwymii, Wales, 1896
and resident of Calgary tom 1924 until
moving to West Vancouver in 1947. She
was predeceased by hes husband Tom in
1977. Survived by her daughter Colleen
Davies and husband Bert and their
children, Sharon, Brent and Michael
(Betsy), and great grandsons Qantas and
Daynas Corman. Ruth’s long time love of
music included many years as a member
of the United Church Choir, Light Opera

in Calgary and participation in the Welsh
Festivals. Ruth was also a member of
the West Vancouver United Church
Business Ladies Club and was noted for
her great ability as a seamstress. Special
thanks to the staff of the West Van-
couver Care Centre. A Celebration of
Ruth Taylor's life will be held at the
West Vancouver United Church, 2062
Esquimalt on Wednesday, August 25th
at 11:30 am. Fer those desiring, dona-
tions may be made in Ruth’s memory to
the Arthritis Society.
