concerts. The Band is a

ince the Fall of

1993, the Band

has been under
the leadership of
Deuglas Macaulay,
award winning
composer and arranger.
Interest in the Band
within the community
is growing for the first
time in many
years. The
Band
received a
silver medal
award at MusicFest
Canada in 1995 where,
out of the great many
school bands
participating from
across Canada, _ the
West Vancouver Youth
Band was the only
community band.

with our Concert by the
Sea, featuring all three
band levels performing
at John Lawson Park.
The Band has taken
Steps towards becoming
self sufficient by hiring
itself out to professional
organizations, private
functions, and
conventions in order to
generate income.

International Music

concert in the
1997/98
season

entitled A Night at the
Opera, featuring music
from the great operas
for the Band alone and
guest . voice . soloists.
