SANTA KLAUS...Peppi’s owner Klaus Fuerniss (seated) and head chef Scctt Rowe present a eS van NEWS photo Stuart Davis sampling of the festive fare that the West Vancouver restaurant will be serving on Christmas Day. hristmas Day dining Several North Shore resiaurants offer ‘special menus for a traditional feast N THE immortal words of the great. Tom Lehrer: “Tis the season to be jolly, fa-la-fa-la-la, la-la-la-la; Disap- proval would be folly, fa-ia-la-la-la, la-la-la-la...’ . Of course it’s not quite that s2ason yet and all that jolliness might not apply if relatives have you pencilled in for riding the kitchen range cn Christmas Day. _ Rather than filling ‘our heart with the warmth of the season, the heat of Christmas kitchens might serve only to send your Christmas spirit screaming into the frosty night air. You might, then, want to join the growing North Shore Christmas Day dining out crowd — {known in sorne circles as the North Shore Union of Merry Mativated Yuletiders or NUMMY) — the folk who make it an annual tradition to doff Christmas cooking gear, don gay apparel and spend their Joyeux Noel being served, tended and otherwise pampered at a local restaurant. So in what has become another annual tradition, Table Hopping staff researchers present a list below of North Shore restaurants that serve special Christmas Day meals. As far as Table Hopping knows this is a comprehensive list, but old St. Nick knows that we have been wrong before. Addi- tions and suggestions for next year TABLE HOPPING are therefore welcomed.
