28 - Friday, January 12, Auto show returns to dome IN ITS second year under the dome at B.C. Place Stadium, the Pacific Inter- national Auto Show is even bigger than ever this year. In the 1990 lineup, several manufacturers will unveil their newest additions. The name Lexus will be added to the list of luxury cars in at- tendance as Toyota in- troduces its new family of cars. Nissan will also introduce luxury with the Infiniti, a new range of elegant and spacious performance sedans. The first totally new sports car by Mercedes since 1972, the 300 SL and the 500 SL, will be unwrapped. Pon- tiac will display the new Trans Sport and Chevrolet, the Lumina APV. New models will be joined by concepts of the future. Toyota’s Sera is a sleek styl- ed four seater with gullwing doors. The MIS Electro Magnetic Automobile by Triple 07, an electric car with an increased range of 150 miles on a single charge, will also offer spectators a chance to ponder a possibili- ty for the future. The arcade will offer an opportunity to participate in automobile games of all types. A sampling from the Museum of Transportation, and the Petro-Canada Theatre and Car Care Clinic will serve as interesting stops where spectators can relax and travel the roads of Western Canada or learn the basics in car maintenance. On the main level of the show, patrons can enter to win a Nissan 240SX. Ballots for entry to win this sports car will be available in the lobby of the Pacific Press Building or at the clearly marked location at the show. The Vancouver Opera Company will be raffling a brand new Jaguar and Petro-Canada will be holding the popular daily draws for 1,000 litres of gasoline. A myriad of high-end aftermarket products and services will fill the con- course level where visitors to the show will see the latest parts and accessories, cellular telecommunications equipment and sound systems. The show runs for 10 days from Friday, Jan. 19 to Sunday, Jan. 28. Show hours are Fridays, 1] am. to 10 p.m., Satur- days, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sundays, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Monday to Thursday, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is $6 for adults, and $4 for seniors and students (14 and under).
