Coinciding with the Coho Festival and organized by the North Shore YMCA, the scenic run will start at Ambleside Beach in West Vancouver, travel through Stanley Park and English Bay, and end at Kitsilano Beach. Four entrant race categories are offered: ages 19 and under, an open class, 40 to 49 masters. and 50 and over super masters. The $15 entry fee includes such extras as a long sleeved T-shirt, return iS transportation to Ambleside Beach, a free pancake breakfast and es. citing hidden prizes. The four have a combined total of 16 vears coaching expertise. Over the past summer, Chena placed fourth provincially and was the third highest scoring B.C. team at the Pan American Pan Pacific swimming trials held in Calgary. Seven of the club’s athletes were named to the B.C. Games team and three to the team that com- peted ar the Western Canada Games, Another Chena swimmer was named as a reserve swimmer at the Pan American Games, while three competed in the Esso International Youth Championships held in Montreal. Chena’s blind swimmer, Lee Grenon, won four gold medals at the summer national champion- ships. Swimming combines fun and challenge.
