62 - Friday, May 31, 1985 - North Shore News Entertainment Another Bond film...yawn YAWN... here we go with another James Bond bore. By COLIN L. I don't think that I’m the only one tired of watching 007 and his endless battle against the forces of evil. In fact, James Bond (Roger Moore), super British not so secret agent, looks a little worse for wear himself. He’s still a handsome old Holiywood hunk, but a wrinkled one. Moore is pushing 60 and is Starting to look like Ronal Reagan when they push him into closeups with all those Bond beauties. His next Bond film may star Katharine Hepburn as the arch villianess just to keep the guy looking young. The new 007 flick is called Scene Changes NORTH SHORE Presentation House The Death and Life of Sneaky Fitch — a comic western musical. Sun. 2:30 & 5:30 (2 for 1) A View To Kill, Like all the other 13 Bond films, the title is filled with double-cnten- dres, along with most of his lines. if the camera doesn’t get too close to Moore's taugh lines, we are expected to believe that he is the old womanizer. and dashing commie basher that he has always been. He trecks into the arctic wastelands of Russia, finds his dead com- rade and under the nose of three or four fully-armed helicopters and a dozen or so red troopers, he snatches a stolen micro-chip and dispatches his cvil pursuers, while skiing ou one leg. His mission is to stop the psychopathic Max Zorin (Christopher Walken). Zorin, the end result of a mad German doctor's ex- periment with steroids, was working for the KGB but decided to put his evil genius to work for himself. **No- body leaves the KGB,"’ the icy blue-eyed Aryan is warn- ed. But with the help of his forso-swinging Black _ girl- friend May Day (Grace Jones), Zorin plans to flood the San Andreas Fault, caus- ing Silicon Valley to vanish, and leaving him in complete domination of the micro- chip market. Bond has his own help in the form of none other than Sir Geoffrey Tibbett (Patrick Macnec), (you may remember Macnee as John Steed from the Avengers). Zorin quickly dispatches this other old time British de- fender of justice and turns his attention to G07. Zorin has Bond pegged for who he really is after running him through his home computer and assigos May Day to ‘‘go get him." She does and after they get out of bed, she tries to kill him. Bond teams up with yet another blond, a young American girl called Stacey (Tanya Roberts) and leads Zorin through a maze of metal-grinding, engine-roar- ing car chases, a raging underground mine flood and plenty of senseless, gory kill- ings. California is of course saved, the micro-chips are safe, and Bond gets the girl. Lots of action, lots of skin and a view to kill, from the Golden Gate Bridge, { mean. A View to Kill is now playing at the Park Royal and the Vancouver Centre. pubs & clubs —___ NORTH SHORE The Avaton Marathon — May 30 - June 1 The Urge — June 6-8 Holidays Cyclone —To June | Whispers Trama —May 27 - June 1 Danse Kamp — June 3-8 The Coach House The Lynnwood Both have live entertainment artworld____.
