Sunday, Jan. 21: Opus Hair Salon will hold a cut-a-then
to raise money and awareness for the AIDS Eye Clinic at
St. Paul’s Hospital. The event takes place at the salon,
between 9 a.m, and 5 p.m. Cuts are a minimum donation
of $15, with every penny being donated to the clinic.
There will also be a silent auction of items including beau-
ty packages, restaurant vouchers and a Canucks signed
hockey stick. Opus is located at 1163 Homer St. in

Monday, Feb. 5: Vancouver fashion historian Ivan Sayers
highlights the evolution of western fashion and its rela-
tionship to changing social and economic views in
Fashion Statements. To complement his slide show (1:30
p.m. at North Vancouver Museum and Archives, 209 W.
4th St.), Sayers will display historical garments from his
impressive collection. Admission is free. For more infor-

that canvassers work in their own
neighborhoods and spend only
about one to two hours canvassing,
