Kipriaki came from behind three times on Sunday to take their first game of the season by a 4-3 margin after Rob Boyd had been forced into the nets following the loss of regular keeper Bruce Bell early in the match. The North Shore team, which won the first division last year, took an early lead when Bill Holdy scored on a 25 yarder at seven minutes. Sapperton came back however, and led 2-1 at the half before Ron Wilson tied the score at 53 minutes. Sapperton again went one up before Jim Boothroyd tied on a penalty and Ron Wilson put away the winner at 85 minutes. Wilson and Paul Granger were outstanding on offense for Kipriaki while Ron Hilder and Wayne Stewart were stalwarts on defense. In the pre-season William Angust tournament over the labor day weekend, Kipriakis lost the final 4-3 to Richmond Rams _ double overtime. Earlier in the tournament, the Kipraikis downed Lynn Valley Falcons 3-1 and Loobans 1-0. Kipriaki has won division titles three years in a row now, leaving them in Premier Division play for the 82-83 campaign.
