the hotel and shuffle off to
do a‘little window shopping
in the Red Light District?
Or, do you panic, knowing
she hasn’t the sense to find
her. way to the “ladies”
without a guide and a
roadmap?

Anything that can go wrong
will, and at the worst
possible moment.

Let’s look into a few of the
small inconveniences and
how best to “cope”.

LOST BAGGAGE:

Get thee to the nearest
information desk and find
the person in charge. Your
bags are well marked, inside
and out, aren’t they? Oh.
Well, next time...The really
smart traveller has checked
his bags when they are
ticketed. Did the ticket have
the right airport code written
on it? LAX means Los
Angeles, not Las Vegas!

When the bags are
definitely numbered among
the missing, the airline will
usually give you some sort of
“inconvenience pay” ranging
around the $25 mark. Just
ask. It may not be volun-
teered.

Bags generally reappear
after a day or so but if
they’re gone for good both
the airline and your own
personal insurance should
come through for most of the
