Ah... Halloween. Probably one of the busiest times of the year. The kids
are hyper and excited, some teens are busy blowing up fireworks or
shooting off firecrackers and the adults are keeping a frantic pace mak-
ing costumes, buying goodies and dealing with everyday life.
Meanwhile, what’s happening to our pets? As busy as we all get during
this season, animals can find it a scary and confusing time. Every year
thousands of dogs and cats go missing during this holiday sezson. They
run away from the loudness of the fireworks, they hide from the scary

4 Monsters, they get lost in the confusion of the night. Please make
F sensible choices regarding your animals. Keep dogs and cats indoors
or at least in an enclosed area. Remember a frightened dog can jump
very high, over a tall fence. Remain calm, remember your “little
ones” and try to keep their routine as regular as possible. Should
you come across a “lost” dog of cat, try to enclose it in a safe place
until you can contact the SPCA or better yet, the owner. Remember
though, even a loving pet will bite if frightened enough, so deal with

these animals as gently and kindly as possible. «
