Fon its humble beginnings in 1939 to its present
status as one of the most prestigious musical
organizations of its type in Canada, hundreds of boys

and girls have

passed through the

NORTH VANCOUVER YOUTH BAND. Membership

in the band is open to all students, from ages 10 to
21 who are attending an educational institution in
British Columbia. The band has 4 levels, Beginners, “
juniors, Intermediates and Seniors.

Each band participates in
sectional lessons, concerts.
parades, tours and many social
events. The calibre of training
which these young people
receive can be measured by
the many awards won by the
band as well as the number of

Band graduates involved
in professional and
recreation musical careers.
The band practices twice a
week at Highlands Elementary
