Present traffic volumes make it

whom live west of Chesterfield)
: when crosting Chesterfield, and
any increase in the traffic volumes
” is just asking for a child to be kill-
ed or injured.

And let us not forget the high
school ‘kids walking to Carson
Graham from homes cast of Ches-

’ ° terfield — if anything, they are less
cautious than the liitle kids.

- ‘News, about residents surrounding
Ridgeway Annex . opposing «the
placement of a portable classroom
on the school grounds.
__ lam appalled by the insensitivity
of our. local residents. This por-
table is necessary due tc increased
enrolment and in order to maintain
the highest standard of education
for our children.
People are complaining the unit
: “is an “unsightly view, obtrusive
and disruptive: ‘to. residents.””. The
‘only view was thai of the backside

Our residents. should. be. more
“-eoncerned with our children’s
future and not that of their own
- ‘selfish needs. The Annex is a small

our concerns, spend some time in

the area between 8:15 and 8:45 in - B

the. morning, and after 3 in the
afternoon.

It is also unacceptable that an
entirely residential neighborhood
be disrupted by this traffic routing.
The present off-ramps at Westview
and Lonsdale provide sufficient
access to our neighborhood now
and we see no reason for the new
interchange to create additional.
access.

We urge the City of North Van-
couver to conduct a full review of
this issue, and obtain input from
the residents of the areas to be af-
fected.

I am assuming the instigator of
this complaint and petition for the
unit’s removal either has 0
children of her own or has abso-
lutely no concern whatsoever for
the future of today’s youth.

The North Van School Board
has done an admirable job solving
the .immediate and unavoidable
problem of the influx: of increased
population to the North Shore,
and School District 44 should not
have to deal with unnecessary and
insignificant backlashing.
