had the bright idea of sicking
himself onto this country fi five
years ago as a ‘‘visitor’’, and
then reporting to Vancouver
General Hospital for medical
treatment he couldn't get in
the land of his birth, with the
result that he’s still here.

The government of Fiji
doesn’t give a damn about
Gulab; doesn’t care whether
he lives or dies, and doesn’t
care who pays his hospital
bills as long as it’s not Fiji.

-So we're stuck with him.
Because we're daft.
