West Vancouver Council Monday tabled a request to extend the commercial area of Panorama Village. Council wants to study the development’s original land use contract more carefully. Alderman Doreen Blackburn pointed out that _ the original land use con- tract said a small shopping - ; centre would be built at the Villiage. Because there are no. shops, people have to travel already-congested streets to Marine Drive just to buy a pack of cigarettes or some milk, she said. Fred Russell, a director of Panorama Village (In- ternational Land Corp.)said small grocery shop chains are interested in opening up at Westmount or Caulfeild, but not at Panorama because there isn't enough develdpment there.
