It should be a time of reflection for those who lost and those who won a seat on council. I came within 317 votes of winning a seat. 1am not bitter. Tam amazed that I man- aged to come within a hair of winning over a seasoned politician. There has been more than enough venom directed at the - victors. I think we should be eval- uating the reasons why three new candidates won out over seasoned municipal council- lurs. W. Van. 926-7710 Candidate concerned about use of name Dear Editor: During the recent local election, my name appeared on neo separate lists suggesting you vote for me. A CUPE representative informed me, by phone, that my name had been chosen for their list of supported candidates. It should be noted that even though my name appeared on this fist, I received no financial support from the union. The second list was distributed by an unknown group, and without my prior knowledge. While it contained a point of view that [do not total- ly agree with, their reasoning was interesting.
