and has a glass rear window
with a defroster. Unlike carlier
plastic rear windows, glass rear
windows don’t fog up and
they don’t scratch. In addi-
tion, the owner doesn’t have
to zip it out before putting the
top down, and zip it up again
after putting the top up.

Purting the top down
requires reicasing two clips on
the windshield header and lift-
ing it up and over your head.
‘To finish the job, you should
get out of the car, fold the
clips down and put the tlesible
vinyl boot cover over the rap
so that dust and moisture

doesn’t get in. Besides, the
Miata looks so much better
with the boot cover in place.
The Miata’s convertible top

doesn’t have any extra noise
insulation or padding on the
inside of the convertible top.
However, this keeps the top
light and easy to put up and
down,

Still unique in the market-

After all these years, there
still isn’t a comparable com-
pettor for the Miata. The
BMW Z3 went upscale with a
standard six cylinder engine a
