Seymour. The woman, who issued was hiking with nwo friends, was alsa hypothermic. She was wheeled out from the trail on a stretcher at about 4 p.m. and taken ta Lions Gate Hospital, where she under- went surgery, Last week on Thursday, North Shore Rescue was involved in a massive land, sea and air search-and-rescuc operation on Bowen Island when two 19-year-old hikers were reported overdue by friends. Police were called to the school shortly around funch afier chil- dren began to complain of watery eyes and breathing problems. The school was subsequently evacuated and the children were taken to Lions Gate Hospital for treatment. After the incident, a number of children at the school discovered a can of pepper spray outside the school building.
