a two-year high in
April 1997.

Sales of 7,366 units
were recorded on the
provincial Multiple Listing
Service (MLS) topping the
6,790 units sold in April,
1996 and 4,186 units sold
in April, 1995.

Stuart Kirkpatrick, the
newly-elected president of
the British Columbia Real
Estate Association
(BCREA) attributes the
increase in sales to the
number of positive eco-
nomic signafs that are evi-
