At the time of the world popula-
tion conference in Cuatro in
September, the newspaper Al-Wajd
reported that a man in the southern
town of Qena stabbed his wife to
death after a discussion about the
conference because she would not
go to bed with him.

A 27-year-old man in Salt Lake
City reported in September that a
burglar had taken $50 and a boitle
of Rogaine, and that the thief had
probably entered through an open
bathroom window in his apartment.

The victim said he usually
leaves the bathroom window open
so that he can come and go freely,
without neighbors’ knowledge,
while dressed as a woman.

Missouri state Rep. Beth Long
pleaded guilty in June to the theft
of four pairs of salt-and-pepper
shakers taken from a Rocheport,
Missouri, restaurant during a leg-
islative dinner the month before.

She said she doesn’t know how
they got into her purse. .

themes most interested them.
Exploring consciousness in
astrological terms emerged
as the most requested theme.
The project was put in the
hands of veteran astrologian
Noel Tyl. The result is a col-

ideas and techniques for
understanding consciousness.

Ty! establishes a conceptual
framework for Exploring
Consciousness In The Horoscope
with his introductory essay. What is
consciousness? Is it a thing ora
process? He suggests that con-
sciousness is something to achieve:
its the act of getting it all together.
Self-realization and wholeness are
the ultimate goals, and the process
according to Ty], often leads to
leadership and celebrity status. The
path toward consciousness and the
study of astrology share the ultimate
goul of understanding the meaning
of life and the “individuals” part
within the external reality.

Beyond these parameters, Ty]
formulates the critical question: Can
the key to consciousness be discov-
ered in particular horoscopic mea-
surements? Pope John Paul It has
one of those charts that might be
considered spiritual and religious.
But then so does mass-murderer
Henri Desire! For every person who
lives a totally conscious existence.
many others born at the same time
share an identical birth chart. but
have not achieved this heightened
state. Ty] notes that the goal of
consciousness is the fulfillment of
potentials. Astrology can describe
those potentials, but not necessari-
ly the process of getting there.

describes experienced reality as a
whole and allows the “individual”

ceived reality and everyone therein
is a refiection of the horoscape.

He advises his clients, “If you
don’t like the message the outer
world carries for you, only by
changing yourself will you get the
outer world to change.”
