Lower Lonsdale has parking solution

Dear Editor:

Regarding the Sunday, March
10 News Viewpoint on parking
problems in the Lower Lonsdale
area, we are missing a great op-
portunity for change here.

Instead of using large chunks of
prime real estate to stack autos,
why not encourage people to use
the transit system which has a ma-
jor terminal at Lower Lonsdale?

Buses and SeaBuses leave for

downtown and every North Shore
location every half hour, and
often every 15> minutes. Further-
more, approximately 18 bicycles
can be parked in the space oc-
cupied by one auto, and if we
start now, we can soon have a
system of safe bike routes and
secure slorage areas.
