Diabetic group meets MEETINGS OF the North Shore Diabetic Support Group resume on Sept. 21. New members are needed so the group can grow and reach the goals set for this new year. All diabetics, families and friends are welcome. During the past year, members of all ages enjoyed talks given by Dr. John Hunt on diabetic research, Jean Tyson on coping with diabetes in other countries, Rene Byers on nutrition and Ds, Haigh on the many frustrations of a doctor dealing with the discase. Denny Boyd and Jim Taylor told the group how they cope with diabetes in their busy, public tives. A caffle was held in the spring with enough money raised to send two children to Camp Kakhaml which caters to diabetic young people. Bruce Tyler will attend the first fall meeting fo give a full report of his week at camp. The group meets the third Wed- nesday of every month at 7:30 p.m. at Lions Gate Hospital in Seminar Rm. f “Meeting with other people who have diabetes is not only educa- tional, but gives one the feeling of shared experiences with people who are tied together with one common denominator,"' says sup- port group member Donna Greig . For further information about the group cail Greig at 987-6007. 31 - Sunday, September 18, 1988 ~ North Shore News LIFESTYLES HOURS: MON.-SAT. 10-6pin ballelael 925-3080 CHOCOLATERIE 1836 MARINE DRIVE, WEST VANCOUVER ~Intropuane \ \ ' ' 975 MARINE DRIVE NORTH VANCOUVER | 984-6561 “Does not apply fo specials For the Committed Skier Lower Prices, More Value __ Purchase by Sept, 30th and SAVE 20% | ' Families Save an: Additional 10% For Total Flexibility Sky Anytime'for Just $9.99 Purchase by Oct. 3ist and SAVE $40: FOR SENIORS ON TUESDAY FURNITURE Sofas, Sofa Beds, Loveseats, Chairs of all kinds, Ottomans, Reciiners, Chaise Lounges, Dining and Bedroom and Occasional Tables, Wall Units, Curio and Entertainment Cabinets, Mattress and Box Springs — All sizes, Lamps, Pictures, Table Covers, Plant Stands, Mirrors, Crystal Chandeliers, and all other Accessories, Drapes and area Carpets.
