THE ‘‘BIGGEST little ’ four-legged race’’ is set to be held this Saturday at Lynn Valley Centre. By KIM PEMBERTON News Reporter The Crawl for Kids is open to babies from the ages of five to 15 months, and is sponsored by Babies in the '80s, McDonald’s Restaurants and 97 Kiss FM. Marilyn Taylor, organizer of Babies in the ’80s forum, said last year’s Craw! for Kids attracted about 2,000 participants. She said the contest is to help increase public awareness for the Babies in the '80s forum, to be held at Robson Square Media Cen- tre Oct. 3. She said it’s also a fund raising event, with donations going to Vancouver’s Ronald McDonald House — a home away from home for families of seriously ill children. TWO PEOPLE Five different shopping malls throughout the Lower Mainland are taking part in the Crawl for Kids contest. The winners from each mall will be invited to the finals, to be held at the Oct. 3 forum. Each participant will receive a small gift. Semi-finalists will receive McDonald's gift packages and a $50 gift pack from local merchants. The grand prize winners from the junior (ages five to nine mon- ths) and senior (ages 10 to 15 mon- ths) categories will be awarded a surprise getaway weekend for their parents. The junior event Sept. 20 at Lynn Valley Centre begins at 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., and the senior event goes from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Babies should be registered on the day of the race at the par- ticipating mall.
