Lynn Valley celebrates

FOR THE 74th time, the Lynn
Valley community is gathering to

. celebrate Lynn Valley Days.

Originally organized by area
merchants in 1912, and later taken
on by the Lynn Valley Lions Club,
with help from local merchants,
Lynn Vailey Days has long marked
the valley's community spirit with
“a big fun day at the park,’’ says
Lions organizer Watson Deery.

The one-day event, that at-
tracted 2,500 people last year, will
go much the same as last year,
Deery said, starting off with a
parade this Saturday at 10 a.m.

While there is a pancake
breakfast slated for 8 a.m. at Lynn
Valley Park, the day gets under
way officially at 10 a.m. when the
parade begins.

Led by Lynn Valley May Queen
Andrea Taylor, a Grade 7 Ross

Road Schoo! student, the parade
starts at 19th Street and Grand
Boulevard and winds its way to
Lynn Valley Park.

Once at the park there is a day-
long schedule of sporting and fun
events for all ages, free carnival
tides for children and a special
professional Frisbee exhibition and
amateur competition that orga-
nizers hope to make an annual
event.
