RE OUTDOOR BURNING

Residents of the District of North Vancouver are
hereby advised that under the provisions of the
Fire Bylaw DRY GARDEN REFUSE inthe natureof @
grass and other clippings, leaves, tree and shrub . &
prunings, cuttings and other like material MAY BE
BURNED WITHOUT PERMIT ON ANY DAY BET-
WEEN OCTOBER 1ST AND OCTOBER 30TH, 1985,
in compliance with the following guidelines:

1. The fire is to be atterided to by.a competent

2. The fire is to be limited in size and a garden
hose is to be kept available.

3. Smoke and fly ash are to be kept to a
minimum in:respect for other residents. (This
may be minimized by having a hot con-
tinuous fire, rather than one that tends to
smoulder and create excessive smoke.)

4. Wind factors are to be taken into considera-
tion when burning as excessive wind condi-
tions result in the spread of fly ash. (It is
recommended that burning not lake place

5. Fires shall be located a minimum of 20 feet
from combustible structures, Standing shrubs

6. No flamimabie or combustible tiquid shall be
used as an accelerant. (Paper is recom-
mended as the initial fuel to commence bur-

7. Residents are cautioned that they may be
liable for any damage incurred as a result of
the outdoor burning.
