Novices try Whitewater 6

novice whitewater kayak
action.

For the second year runn-
ing, the Whitewater Canoe-
ing Association of B.C.
(WCABC) is giving the
novice whitewater enthusiast
the opportunity to get a taste
of whitewater competition in

what event organizer, Peter
Buchmuller calls ‘‘an_ in-
volvement event."”

“The idea really is fun over
competition,’ says
Buchmuller, ‘‘anyone who
has any whitewater ex-
perience is welcome to
enter."”

The WCABC will hold a
whitewater clinic on Saturday

with the official race to get
underway H1 a.m. Sunday.
Scheduled race course is set
for the upper pools of the
tiver and will include only
one set of rapids.

Entry fee will be $3. Prizes
have yet to be finalized. En-
trants must have all their own
equipment. For information
