The roller skating program

Other communities, partic-
ularly on Vancouver Island,
have had success with roller
skating programs. - The
$10,000 expenditure for 880
pairs of roller skates should
be recovered in three years,

Aldermen who worked on

6% hike for
WV council

West Vancouver council
has given itself a six per cent
pay raise.

The increase brings the
annual payment to the
mayor to $16,428, two-thirds
of which is honorarium and
one-third allowance, and
payment to cach alderman
to $5,475.

Alderman Don McAlister
remarked that “council
figured six per cent a fair
figure and probably below
the going increases this ycar
of about seven per cent.”
