Daughter charged

THE DAUGHTER of recently convicted West Vancouver
murderer, Abdur Rashid Khan, has been charged with
using and possessing a stolen credit card and failing to pay
Social Services tax.

Shazia Rashid Khan, 21, ef West Vancouver, is next slat-
ed to sppear in West Vancouver provincial court on Oct. 16.

The stolen credit card charges stem for April 3 incidents
in West Vancouver,

The tax charge is related to a May 26, 1994 incident.

Abdur Khan was convicted in August of the second-
degree murder of his daughter-in-law, Naazish. Naazish
Khan, a former model from Bombay, was found dead in the
trunk of Khan's car on Dec. 11, 1993.

Abdur Khan was handed a life sentence with the elipi-
bility of parole in 16 years after a jury trial in B.C.
Supreme Court.

Abdur Khan’s wife. Rashida, has yet to stand trial on
the same murder charge.

A 19-YEAR-OLD North Vancouver man was recently

“jailed.60 days in connection with two probation breaches,
Jonas Patrick Archer pleaded guilty to failing to report toa
probation officer on Aug. 23 and being found outside his
home between 9 pm. und 6 a.m. on Sept. 7. Archer was
Jailed Sept. 19 in North Vancouver provincial court. .

DIRK BOSWYK, 36. has
been identified as one of 56
people killed in an earthquake
that hit Manzanillo, Mexico,
on Tuesday.

He was identified along with co-
worker Judy Jang, 27, as the two
Camadian victims in the collapse of a
hotel that had been slated for demo-
lition. Both were employees of
VANNET, a community newspaper
network that includes the North
Shore News,

Marilyn. Boswyk said her son Dirk
stood out from the time he was born
thanks to his sense of fun: “He was a
computer dude, He was just terrific

lem, He was an actor from the time
he was a baby — what a waste.”

heard of their son‘s death while lis-
tening to the morning news,

Dirk Boswyk is also survived by
his ‘sister Loraine Tobin of Surrey
and relatives living throughout the
world, A memorial service is being
planned.
