BURNABY LAWYER Tom
Peach has been appointed a direc-
tor of the B.C. Trade Deveiop-
ment Corp., International
Business Development Minister
Elwocd Veitch announced recent-
ly.

Born in Burnaby, Peach ma-
jored in commerce and economics
at Simon Fraser University and

graduated in law at the University
of B.C. in 1974.

He is a partner with the firm
Hean, Wylie Peach, de Stefanis
and his preferred areas of practice
include commercial and corporate
matters, real estate, banking law,
and general commercial litigation,
including an interest in arbitration
matters.

Outlook Conference, entitled
Challenges of Today and Tomor-
row, Will take place Nov. 13 and
4 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in
Vancouver.

North Shore resident Philip J.
Hitchie, vice-president of market-
ing for Bene, said the new soft
drink, which comes in two fla-
vors, cola and citrus, is healthier
than most other brands because it

doe. not contain any sodium, ar-
tificial Mavors or colors, preser-
vatives or any phosphates.

“Bene is sweetened with fruc-
tose, not sucrose or glucose,
because fructose does not raise
blood sugar levels as much,” said
Hitchie. “We are using approxi-
mately 25 per cent less sweetner
than regular soft drinks and have
a corresponding drop in the
number of calories.’”
