Edna P. Gurewitsch said that the relationship bet- ween her husband, the late Dr. David Gurewitsch, and Mrs. Roosevelt changed from professional to a ‘unique friendship” in 1947 when the two were delayed for days by bad weather in Newfoundland and Shannon, Ireland, while on a flight to Geneva, Switzerland. “This gave them secluded time in which to learn about each other and was the start of exchanges of confidence, advice and mutual trust upon which each grew to depend.” Mrs. Gurewitsch vacation time to said in the December issue of American’ Heritage released Tuesday. Mrs. Roosevelt was 63 and Gurewitsch was 45. In the years that followed, Gurewitsch used his travel abroad with Mrs. Roosevelt, accompanied by secretary,- Maureen Corr, Mrs. Gurewitsch said.
