North Vancouver Cruisers swim club is holding a sign- up day on Sunday, April 21 at the Ron Andrews pool. Swimmers and water polo players can register between 3 and 5 p.m. next Sunday for the four-month swim season (May through August). The Cruisers were established in 1971, and is currently the largest. swim club on the North Shore and sixth largest in the province. Practices are held weekday mornings and afternoons. Scott yander Sluys arrived back on the North Shore from a week- long visit to Switzerland with a gold medal around his neck. The North Vancouver 19- year-old is a member of the Canadian hockey team that downed the host country 16- 3 in the gold medaj game at the World Winter Games for the Deaf in Davas, Switzerland. The last time the world’s best hockey players got together, at the 1995 World Championships, Canada_tin- ished second.
