Pour a couple of ounces of beer inte

themouthof the jar with one corner.4

band. The fermenting beer will at-
tract the fruit flies and they will find
their way down the funnel into the
Jar. The hole in the bag is too small
for them to find their way out!

remember his not ever show-
ing up.

The idea of having radio in
our own house was marvellous
to all of us back in 1932, 33,
thereabouts. We knew about
tadio, our friends had told us
about programs they listened
to and how interesting and
exciting it was to actually hear
Jack Benny saying “Jelloh
again.”

But our stepfather was not
one to jump onto anybody’s
flash in the pan, and he waited
for a long time to assure him-
self that this unlikely thing
would last We didn’t have the
luxury of a daily paper, never
had had _ they ill came
from the coast via the train, in
bunches.

The local paper, the
Citizen, came only once a
week, and it was pretty well
liraited to write-ups about an
addition to the hospital and
the date of the next Ladies Aid
