Man robbed

NORTH VANCOUVER RCMP are searching for several
men who robbed another man of an undetermined
amount of. money between 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on
Wednesday, May 5.

A police spokesman said that a man was walking in
the 100-block of West Second Street when he was con-
fronted by several men who demanded cash.

When the victim refused to hand over his money, an
altercation ensued between the suspects and the victim.

Information regarding the incident muy be forwarded
to Const. Carlos Guterrez at the North Vancouver
RCMP at 985-1311.

Drugstore robbed

NORTH VANCOUVER RCMP are searching for a man
and « woman wanted in connection with a robbery at the
Anderson’s Pharmacy in the 1500-block of Lonsdale
Avenue, |

A police spokesman said that at about $:30 p.m. on
Sunday, May 9, the pair stole an undetermined amount
of casa and a Jarge number of stamps from the rear of
the store while the owser wus busy at the front of the

store.

One suspect is described as a white male in his 30s be-
tween 5°83" (173 cm) and 5° 10°" (178 cm) tall.

The second suspect is described us being au heavy-set

Vessel fined

THE OWNER of a ship was recently fined $1,200 for
polluting the waters of Burrard Infet neue North Van-

couver City with ofl,
The F.V. Otol discharged the pollutant on June 1,

1992.

A representative of the ship pleaded guilly to the
charge in North Vancouver provincial court.

Judge Jerome Paradis fined the vessel owner on Fri-

day, April 16.

NV man jailed
for dangerous
driving offence

A 28-YEAR-OLD North Van-
couver man was recently sentenced
to a 4$-day jail term in connec-
tion with a number of charges in-
cluding a dangerous driving
charge.

Marbod Horst Kern appeared in
West Vancouver provincial court
on Tuesday, April 6, to face the
charges.

Kern pleaded guilty to:

* possessing two stolen licence
plates on June 25, 1992, in West
Vancouver;

* stealing a licence plate on Jane
27, 1992, in North Vancouver:

e dangerous driving on Cypress
Bow! Road in West Vancouver on
Oct 11, 1992.

Judge Doug Moss sentenced
Kern to 2! days in jail for stealing
the licence plate, 14 days for
possessing the stolen licence plates
and 45 days for dangerous driv-
ing.

The jail sentences are to run
concurrently,

In addition, Kern's driver's
licence. was suspended for 12
months in connection with the
dangerous driving charge,

Kern also received four months’
probation,

Kern was permitted to serve his
jail sentence on weekends.
