APPOINTM
THE NORTH Shore Credit
Union (NSCU) has appointed

Douglas Smith as its new  vice-
president of marketing and com-
munications.

In his new position, Smith will
contribute to reaching NSCU’s
goals and objectives through
management of the marketing and
communications division.

Smith will also participate as a
member of the executive
Management team in the long-
term strategic planning and policy
development of the credit union.

Smith, 34, has an extensive
background in financial services
and joined the NSCU after spend-
ing five years with Credit Union
Central of Saskatchewan where ne
was the manager
resources consulting services;
distzict development manager and
marketing manager.

FINANCIAL PLANNER Roy
Bennett will be the guest speaker
at the Friday, Feb. i2 breakfast
meeting of the West Vancuuver
Chamber of Commerce.

Bennett, of Roy B. Bennett and
Assaciates, will speak ‘about in-
vesting in Mexico and the “Mex-
ican Connection.”’

He has been in the financial
planning business for the past 14
years and has specialized in com-
prehensive financial planning for
the owner/managers business and
has developed working liaisons
with other professionals in the
legal accounting and technical
fields.

His current client profile in-
cludes home-based businesses,
engineering firms, com-
puter-related business, retail
distribution companies and indi-
viduals in management.

Bennett is also a founding
member of the Vancouver
Regionai Financial Planning
Association and past chairman of
the Pension and Tax Study
Group.
