| Gallery featuring i bonsai and crystal GERARD SANDERS of Takamatsu. Bonsai, along with Karen and Susan Lipsett of Crystalworks Gallery, are proud to announce the opening of ‘‘Im- ages of Time,”’ an exhidition of centuries-old bonsai trees and fascinating clusters of ancient crystal formations, - The beauty and stylistic shaping of traditional bonsai and the spec- tacle of light refracted by unique crystals display the tremendous forces of nature and time. Each giant crystal was formed by elemental forces deep within the earth. Hundreds of crystals from around the world are on display, including a stupendous “‘cathedral quartz’? from Brazil, formed millions of years ago. Takamatsu Bonsai :s the largest private bonsai nursery in Canada with over 8,000 trees, seme hun- dreds of years old. Sanders and the Lipsetts are excited by the magical] qualities in these works of art which reflect the powerful forces of nature often overlooked in today’s harried world. Here, in the space of a few metres, in the midst of urban surroundings, visitors will imagine they are in a place of misty forests and glacial icelands. Open daily from 12 noon to 8 p-m. until Dec. 8, Images of Time is being held at the Crystalworks Gallery, 1800 West Sth Ave., Vancouver. Residents and media from Vancouver, the Lower Mainiand and Sunshine Coast are invited to attend what promises to be an awakening and inspirational journey through the mysterious realms of bonsai and crystal.
