SYWTV facilitator Kathy Dor- nan says: ‘“‘Most people regard volunteering as a dutiful thing — necessary, but not that fulfilling. We hope to inform people about some of the hidden benefits, like job testing and experience, social contact, recreation.” She adds that a worthy volunteer experience offers training and supervision to the volunteer so that the benefits can be gained in a Winners named WINNERS OF the 1988 North Shore Gardens Contest will be an- nounced on Friday, Sept. 30. Commencing at 7:30 p.m., the program will begin with an il- lustrated talk by professor Patrick Mooney, Department of Land- scape Architecture, UBC, and will be followed by the presentation of awards and a slide show featuring the winning gardens and other selected garden entries.
