As of May 1, the airport service started its daily run at 5:45 a.m. ‘from the Park Royal Hotel and pick up at the International Plaza at 5:50 a.m. ; North Shore Airporter president Harry Chand said the decision to move the service was made after the Plaza chose to cut its share of airporter funding by one third. He added that the service has lost well over $60,000 since it was established in 1979. “We broyght the airporter here because the people of the North Shore said they wanted it, but if they do they should use it,’’ Chand said. He invited residents to make any suggestions to his company regar- ding the service, which currently employs eight drivers. N.VAN, 980-4757 gets underway CONSTRUCTION was scheduled to begin Monday on the 38-unit North Shore Housing Co-operative after $1.8 million in federal and provincial funding was announced last week. In a joint press release, Capilano MP Mary Collins and North Van- couver-Capilano MLA Angus Ree said the project had received first-mortgage financing of $1,892,000. The Building Independent Liv- ing with the Disabled (BUILD) project will be located at 875 to 895 West 16th Street in North Vancouver and provide housing for low-income and handicapped residents. Tenants at the co-op will pay no more than 30 per cent of their in- come jn rent. Estimated annual rental sub- sidies of $248,804 will be provided by the federal Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp. and the pro- vincial government. Facility for handicapped persons in the project has been raised from five per cent, which is the provin- cial minimum, to 25 per cent. The provincial government has purchased the site for $838,300 and will lease it to North Shore Housing Cooperative for 60 years, the news release said.
