A 17-YEAR-OLD youth who suffered severe in-
juries when he fell over a 50-foot cliff on Bowen
Island Monday is in serious condition in Van-

couver General Hospital.

The youth was airlifted
from the beach at Apadaca
(Coppermine) Cove by a 442
Squadron Armed Forces
helicopter just before 3 p.m.
Monday after rescue efforts
by the North and West Van-
couver emergency team’s
Marine rescue unit were
thwarted.

the team’s small boat within
minutes of the alarm going
