By JOANNE MacDONALD The shortfall was debated on all sides by NSNH members and was the essence of .a notice of motion in- troduced at the meeting. Queried were such issues as the reasons for the 12 per cent uicrease in salary to the incoming executive director, the ten per cent increase to the Daycare director’s salary in November, 1983, and what routes the Board plans to take to reduce.the deficit in the coming year. President Georgina Coustalin ruled out of order questions pertaining to a complaint filed by the union with the Labor Relations Board, and details on cash settlements to laid-off diamond in 14 kt gold (wedding band avail.) The Board said plans to reduce the deficit will tak the shape of a massive fund- raising drive, with Fund- raising Committee Chairman John Lakes announcing that May will be declared ‘‘North Shore Neighborhood House Month’’ by the mayors of both North Vancouver municipalities. Lakes added the NSNH will be going to the public for financial .assistance for the first time since 1967 with ap- proaches to be made to such diverse groups as the Chamber of Commerce and the RCMP. He said a letter will be sent out to local residents re- questing assistance, with a publicity blitz also to be con- ducted through media out- lets.
